OPEN AIR MUSEUM & ADDITIONAL KARNAK TRACKS:
Attached is a FREE download of the principal temples and shrines contained with Karnak’s Open Air Museum. Located in the northwest corner of the Precinct of Amun within the Karnak Temple complex, the museum contains many reconstructions of structures that have been dismantled and buried or hidden inside the massive pylons of the complex.
Notable amongst them Hapshetsut’s Chapelle Rouge, the White Chapel of Senusret I and the calcite shrine of Amenhotep II.
Pride of place within the Open Air Museum goes to the reconstructed Red Chapel of Hatshepsut, originally constructed as a barque shrine during the queen’s reign from 1479 to 1458 BC.
